Summer School on Recombinant DNA Technology
(13 – 27 June, 2009)

A 15 days Summer School on Recombinant DNA Technology has been started at the UGC-Networking Resource Centre in Biological Sciences (UGC-NRCBS), Madurai Kamaraj University. The summer school will be held from 13th to 27th June, 2009. School of Biological science at Madurai Kamaraj University has established a national resource centre with sophisticated instruments for advanced research in Biology and Biotechnology. UGC-NRCBS regularly conducts winter schools and summer schools on various thematic areas in Biology. The objective of this summer school is to train young faculty members and scientists in recent trends and associated laboratory exercises in the area of recombinant DNA technology. 20 research scholars from various parts of India are participating in this summer school. The summer school was inaugurated by Prof. P. Gunasekaran, Coordinator, UGC-NRCBS programme. 15 experts in Recombinant DNA Technology from various leading Research Institutes and Universities will deliver special lecturers during the summer school. Dr. J. Rajendhran, Convener, and Dr. S.B Anand, Organizing secretary of this summer school said that this programme is designed in such way to fulfill the today’s need of researchers and strengthen their research by utilizing advanced techniques.
